Although the village is on a busy road, it has retained much of its character and charm with many old cottages. The area has several interesting features, including a good example of a turnpike tollhouse, water mill, a well preserved dovecot and an icehouse.

Stadhampton has two pub/restaurants, a village store, post office and petrol station.
